This research aimed to determine the phytochemical and anti-diabetic activity of ethanolic extract of Actinodaphnetadulingamii. The extraction of leaves of Actinodaphne tadulingamii was done by cold maceration with ethanol. Theethanolic extract of Actinodaphne tadulingamii were subjected to qualitative analysis to identify the presence of variousphytoconstituents and anti-diabetic activity was carried out by in-vitro method using α-amylase inhibition assay. Preliminaryphytochemical analysis of ethanolic extract of leaves of Actinodaphne tadulingamii showed that the plant have a wealthypossession of phytochemicals like carbohydrate, phenols, flavonoids, glycosides, terpenoids, steroids, sterols, saponins. In thein-vitro study the ethanolic extract of Actinodaphne tadulingamii shows maximum inhibition of 68.34% on α-amylase at400μg/ml. From this study, the ethanolic extract of Actinodaphne tadulingamii leaf has a affluent amount of phytochemicalslike flavonoids, steroids, terpenoids. Based on the obtained results and observations, the leaves of Actinodaphne tadulingamiicould be used for the supportive treatment of diabetes mellitus. Further studies are essential to determine the antihyperglycemicactivity of Actinodaphne tadulingamii in terms of molecular mechanism(s) concerned within the activity
